This cake was inspired by the art world. When Camille and Doug Spurlock asked me to make a cake for the Grand Opening of their Art Gallery, I was excited. Creating edible art is my passion but when the “Art World” comes knocking on your door for an “ART” inspired cake; it takes on a whole new meaning. I immediately decided to take a healthy dose of Salvador Dali and combine it with a sprinkling of Gustav Klimt. The bottom tier was a Pineapple vanilla cake with crème Brule custard filling. The second tier was a Dark Chocolate cake with Vanilla Custard and the Top Tier was my signature Vanilla Bean Cake with Dark Chocolate custard.
